More on the Exxon Shipping v. Baker ruling

Wed, 25 Jun 2008 14:54:56 PDT
A statement from ExxonMobil's Chairman and CEO Rex W. Tillerson, reaffirming the company's efforts and empathy for Alaskans, but not addressing the legal issues. Lots of coverage and background from the Anchorage Daily News. It includes a visceral, non-legal response from an attorney for the original plaintiffs: "'I prefer to think of it as five of the justices on the Supreme Court going out of their way to help big business,' said Brian O'Neill, one of the main attorneys for the plaintiffs. '

Golden Strawberry Sand

Wed, 25 Jun 2008 14:52:28 PDT
Golden Strawberry Sand 25 Filed under (Family Life) by Carol @ 01:52 pm There is a reason people knock on wood. It’s too keep from being jinxed by telling good news, right? I’d hate to be jinxed (again) but I haven’t had vertigo in three days. There has been a sort of alignment of the stars and I don’t know which of the things that I have going on might be responsible, but three spin-free days is a streak to me. I started taking the Pill to even out my hormones. The only good

Is Monster Cable feeling threatened by the little guy?

Wed, 25 Jun 2008 13:15:28 PDT
It was long since proven that high priced Audio/Video cables are a sham. This may be old news to some, but I just came across this while searching for low priced options to the exorbitant prices Monster and similar companies provide their cables for. For those that can stomach 'legalise' I highly recommend reading the linked PDF's, Great Read!

PayPerPost and SocialSpark Sites Down

Wed, 25 Jun 2008 14:48:42 PDT
I attempted to enter the details for my last sponsored post through Izea’s PayPerPost scheme, to find that the site was not responding. As I have had problems with my internet recently, so the first thing to do was check if a few other sites were working. Google, a few favourite forums and friends’ sites were all working. So, I opened up NetFront on my phone, waited for the Edge connection to be established, and confirmed that the Izea sites were not accessible via KCell’s servers either. At t

Public: Don't Mess With My Flight Plans

Sun, 13 Aug 2006 11:58:25 PDT
"Pretty soon we'll have to fly naked!" The mass media rapidly embraced the UK terror storyline fed to them. The BBC, CNN, CBC Newsworld and other all-news broadcasters covered scarcely anything but the narrowly averted catastrophe throughout the day. Funny thing, but the general public wasn't buying it. The reaction was surprisingly cynical...

Twitter messages that exist because they exist

Wed, 25 Jun 2008 13:27:52 PDT
Do you have a Twitter (1) account? I do, and I call it “BesZ On Twitter” among other things, sort of like saying Bob on Drugs or Bes on Sprite. Just like other things in life, Twitter is a tool that many people use without understanding why they are using it. Many people on Twitter add nothing useful to their own lives or the lives of the Twitter machines (2), yet they Twitter because they can. They Twitter so that you and I can look at their Twitter and wonder “Why?” I guess I should be gratef
