Building a Cloudbursting Capable Infrastructure

Thu, 18 Sep 2008 08:45:02 PDT
The general premise of cloudbursting is to allow the cloud to act as overflow resources in the event your own infrastructure becomes overloaded. It's an active fail-over model, in a way, that ensures applications are available and performing well even when capacity in the local data center is exhausted. The problem with an architecture that supports cloudbursting is that you want to be able to simultaneously leverage both the local data center and the cloud.

Sunny and Warm Wednesday

Thu, 26 Jun 2008 05:53:00 PDT
June has been a sneaky month, temperaturewise. Aside from the four-day heat wave earlier in the month it hasn't been particularly warm or cold. However, the month may still wind up as one of the ten warmest June's on record. Helping out on that quest will be a stretch of warm weather until the end of the week. Today is a winner! Sunny, warm and dry with a high around 85. Humidity returns tomorrow, and along with it a chance of showers or thunderstorms. It is too soon to say with any confidence

Of course, the city would like to have as many of the thousands of lawsuits dismissed or settled as easily as possible, and the plaintiff's lawyers claim the city's review is skewed. The NY Times has different documents from both sides.
